Heritage Story – Skoutari

The land of Skoutari breathes time.

In southern Greece, within the rugged beauty of Laconia, nestled between the coast and rolling hills, lies Skoutari—a place not found by chance. You arrive when you are seeking silence, an ancient rhythm, and a land that has practiced the same craft for millennia.

Its olive trees took root in stone before history had words—during the Mycenaean era, when olive oil was power, light, and the sacred. Through antiquity and the Roman age, trade routes carried this golden essence across the Mediterranean, each drop bearing a promise of sun and sea.

Centuries passed.

In the quiet of Byzantium and through later trials, Skoutari remained faithful to its rhythm: hand-harvesting, patience, and a land that rewards only those who know how to listen.

When autumn arrives and the air cools, the harvest begins. Olives are gathered by hand, calmly, without haste. Only the finest fruit is chosen. Pressed soon after harvest by cold extraction, their flavor, aroma, and natural vitality are preserved intact. Nothing is added—and nothing needs to be taken away.

This is how Skoutari olive oil is born

Today, Skoutari continues the same story

In the mornings, we woke to mist-covered hills and ancient olive trees—and soon realized how the rush of everyday life had been left behind.

Encounters with local harvesters and the taste of freshly pressed, natural olive oil changed our understanding of the entire product. It wasn’t just oil, but part of daily life, tradition, and moments shared together. That’s when the idea was born: we wanted to bring this same experience to Finland.

Creating our first Skoutari Gold product took five years. We didn’t rush, because we knew that only time can create something truly lasting. Now, nine years later, we have refined our product to an ever higher level of perfection.

Skoutari Gold comes from a small, carefully selected region. It is made to be shared—for unhurried moments and good food.

Not just olive oil. Timeless luxury. Bottled.
